Dzongkha (dz_BT)
Online Dzongkha WordPress Translation Day Mini-Event will be on 3 October 2020 from 4am to 6am UTC (10 am – 12 pm BTT), organized by the Bhutanese WordPress Community.
It will feature guest speaker Mr Tenzin Namgyel. He has been using WordPress since 2014 and later became dz_BT locale manager and General Translation Editor (GTE) in maintenance of dz_BT WordPress Core translations. Currently, he works for Dzongkha Development Commission as Senior ICT Officer.
Ugyen, the event organizer, said: “The reason behind this event is to digitize Dzongkha to encourage aspiring Bhutanese bloggers and Bhutanese WordPress users to promote our rich culture and tradition of Bhutan utilizing WordPress as the most dependable platform. We want to hand over to our Bhutanese youth with full dz_BT WordPress Core Translation to make it ready for building Dzongkha websites customized in WordPress.”

After the launch of WordPress Meetup Thimphu with a number of Translation Contributors, with strong support from Dzongkha Development Commission, added 12 active contributors. It was highlighted in the People of WordPress blog due to its huge success.

Portuguese – Brazil Translation Day Mini-Event (pt_BR)
The Portuguese – Brazil WordPress community will have a mini event this Saturday 3 October 2020.
Several translation editors will be available on the community’s #traducao Slack channel to help everyone who wants to start with translations, become a PTE, proofread translations and everything else related to translation.

Russian Translation Day Mini-Event (ru_RU)
The Russian WordPress Community is organising the Russian Translation Day Mini-Event on October 3 2020. It will run from 9am – 12pm UTC (12pm-3pm MSK), streaming through YouTube with Denis Yanchevsky and focusing on translating plugins and themes for WordPress into Russian.

Indonesian Translation Day Mini-Event (id_ID)
The Indonesian WordPress community has organised the Indonesian Translation Day Mini-Event, which will take place on 3 October 2020.
It will run from 7:00am – 9:00am UTC and from 12:30pm 2:00pm UTC (14:00 – 16:00 WIB and 19:30 – 21:30 WIB) on a livestream connected to WordCamp Jakarta YouTube and WordCamp Jakarta Facebook. There will be a focus on translating the Meta WordCamp.org project and reviewing the ID Glossary. All comments will appear on Streamyard, and discussion can also take place on Slack. French Translation Day Mini-Event (fr_FR)
The French WordPress community has organised an afternoon of translating on Saturday October 3, 2020 from 11am – 3pm UTC (EST: 1:00pm – 5:00 pm), using the Zoom video-conferencing platform and French WordPress Slack.
Three GTEs (General Translation Editors) will be present, and the focus is to welcome, guide and support as many new people as possible to introduce them to the translation of the core of WordPress, as well as themes, extensions and documentation.

Japan International Translation Day Celebration Week (ja)
The Japanese WordPress community will start its week of celebration for WordPress translation on Sunday, 27 September 2020. The kick off Zoom meeting will be from noon – 1pm UTC (JST: 9-10pm), using the Zoom video-conferencing platform.
The agenda for the meeting includes meet & greet, overview of the activities during the week, and instructions on how to translate WordPress plugins, themes, and various documentations. We’ve prepared a comprehensive reference worksheet to keep track of the progress during the event.

The event is divided into two sessions:
Session 1: We have invited one of the lead organizers for the week celebration to give the keynote for Indian WordCamps. As this request had been made by a number of events to the organizer, Mumbai will host the event with the wider community for the event as a whole. This will be a 30 minute talk by cross-cultural communications trainer and experienced international contributor to the project, Abha Thakor. She will talk about the benefits of translating WordPress into your local language. This will also be available to some of the other countries involved in the event, so book your ticket as soon as you can.
Session 2: Panel Discussion with local and international WordPress contributors sharing their experience of taking part in translating.
