Contributors from across the world come together to bring you WordPress Translation Day 2021. This is the 6th year of the event. Meet some of the people behind the scenes volunteering on the global schedule.
Meet the local organizers and the mini-events taking place across September.
Naoko is a Polyglots Team and Community Team contributor, sponsored by Automattic. She has been involved in the WordPress community as a Japanese GTE & Polyglots Team global mentor. She co-organizes WordCamps, Meetups, and do_action from Tokyo, Japan. She is currently learning Spanish.
Erica is a contributor to the Polyglots and Community teams, sponsored by Automattic. She has been a WordCamp organizer and speaker, is a Community Deputy, and contributes translations to the Brazilian Portuguese locale. When her laptop is closed, she loves travel, books, and coffee.
Abha Thakor is a communicator and researcher. Through Non Stop Business Support and other organizations, she specializes in technology, content, professional development training, and cross-cultural working. This is her third year as an global organizer focusing on marcomms and live streaming.
Boy Witthaya S.
Witthaya (Boy) is a Bangkok-based design technologist with a passion for making art and design, websites and brands better. He has been a WordPress enthusiast since 2008. He got involved through organizing WP and WordCamp Bangkok, and WordCamp Asia. He contributes to the Design team to help make WordPress even better.
Nok is a managing director of her local hosting company in Thailand. She joined the WordPress Community in Bangkok in 2014. Local lead organizer of WordCamp Asia 2020, and lead organizer of WordCamp Bangkok 2019. She contributed to the WordPress Bangkok meetup as co-organizing team, GTE of Thai team, and Global community deputy team. Yoga and kitchen are her retreats.
Meher is a Front End Web Developer, with 15+ years of experience. A strong communicator, and highly motivated with a sharp understanding of business. She is a Team Rep of the Make WordPress Marketing Team and contributes to different teams in the community. This is the second year she has been a global and local organizer for the event. When not working she loves to cook and explore different locations.
Brazil / Portugal
Felipe (He/Him) works as a Happiness Engineer at Automattic on the WooCommerce team. He loves being part of the WordPress community. He likes to get involved in projects with strong social impact. You will find him mostly in the Polyglots and Support teams on WordPress.org. He is originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Pooja is a co-founder of WPVibes. She has more than seven years years of experience with WordPress. She is actively involved in Training, Polyglots, Marketing teams and a co-organizer at Ajmer WordPress Meetup group. She is also a GTE for Hindi. She loves WordPress and enjoys helping others and contributes in every possible way.
Hari is a Community Wrangler at Automattic. He contributes to the WordPress Community Team full-time, and is a GTE for Malayalam. WordPress is one of his biggest passions and strongly believes in its potential as an agent of change for the world and the web. He lives in Kochi, India with his wife and cats.
Larissa is from Quito, Ecuador. She has been contributing to the Make WordPress Marketing team since May 2020. This is her second year as a WordPress Translation Day organizer, and she’s looking forward to translating for her locale, es_EC. In her work, she is marketing manager at marketgoo, a SaaS company.
WordPress Engineer at XWP. Currently living in Surat, India. Engaging with WordPress since 2014. Contributing to WordPress core, and Meta, plugin author, WP-Surat Meetup co-organizer and GU local translator Editor and contributor. When he’s not front of his laptop, he would like to visit new places and spend time with friends.
Based in Taiwan, Huanyi loves WordPress. Trying to localize community documents for our local community.
Nalini believes in supporting the community and working together to make the world better and more inclusive for everyone. She has worked in medicine, occupational therapy, and healthcare. She has supported international cultural cooperation projects for a number of decades. She is a contributor to the core, marketing, polyglot and community teams.
Customer support specialist at aThemes and translator at WP-Translations. Living in Tegal, Indonesia, he has been contributing to WordPress Polyglots as Locale Manager and GTE for the Indonesian locale since 2020. He is organizing a translation mini-event in Indonesia with other local GTEs.
Yogesh is an Open Source enthusiast and an active WordPress community person and translator. An educator, maker, and reader, he loves cooking and traveling. He is an organizer of community events and hackathons.
Western NY / USA
Nicholas has been involved in the WordPress community since 2004. As Growth Marketing Lead at Automattic, Nicholas leverages data and experimentation to craft marketing experiences. He contributes to the Make WordPress Marketing team.
Mr. Suresha N is an Educator, Freelance web designer, Graphics Designer, WPTranslationDay contributor, organizer, Speaker at WordCamp India.
Swapnil is an experienced, detailed-oriented developer with 7+ years of hands-on experience efficiently crafting web and mobile apps. Building state-of-the-art, easy-to-use, user-friendly, and accessible applications is a passion for him.
Ahmed is a Team Rep for Make WordPress Global Design. He was part of the organizing team for WordPress Accessibility Day 2020, WordCamp NEO 2021, WordCamp Santa Clarita 2021, and the mini-event for Bengali Translation Day in 2020. He loves to volunteer in WordCamps.
Olga is a WordPress developer and marketer, with a background in advertising. She is a Make WordPress Marketing Team Rep and involved in the Russian WordPress community. She also contributes to the Polyglots, Support, and Training teams. In her free time, she is a fiction writer.
